This past week, I was chatting with a lovely friend and fellow food blogger about a cookie concept that no salty-sweet lover could resist– something with chocolate AND pretzels. We swooned over different things we could add to the mix, and it sounded more delicious every second. As you can imagine, I couldn’t just sitting around knowing a cookie like this could exist without making it happen… and boy, did it happen.
You will need:
1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup broken up pretzels
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
And for the peanut butter drizzle:
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp milk
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Pre-heat your oven to 350. Whip together your butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla and combine. In a small bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add dry mix to wet mix, and combine completely. Fold in chocolate chunks/chips and pretzel pieces. Spoon rounded tablespoons of dough on to a cookie sheet, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
Remove from oven, and after a few minutes, move cookies to a cooling rack. I placed parchment paper under my rack for easy clean up. In a small bowl, whisk together peanut butter, milk, and powdered sugar until completely combined. Drizzle mixture over cookies.
These definitely did not disappoint! They were everything I wanted them to be and more. A perfect combination of salty and sweet! Definitely check out my friend Ashley’s take on the cookies, they look totally delicious too!
